Arrival
There is plenty of offroad car parking space at Roseville, with space for 4 vehicles.
There is a tarmac area for unloading / loading, while the main area is large slabs with gravel. The tarmac area is flat and level.
There is a large tiled porch leading to the front door, and there is a ramp of slabs and gravel leading up to the porch. The front door is quite wide and leads into the hall.
Transport
Guilden Suttone is on a couple of city bus routes. Roseville is about a 10-minute taxi ride from the city centre. We can arrange a taxi for you during your stay (please let us know in advance so that we can make bookings).
General layout
Roseville is on 2 floors. The upper floor is reached via a short staircase. The breakfast room and conservatory are on the ground floor, and the bedrooms are on the upper floor. The gardens are reached from the back door, which is down a short corridor from the hall. There is a patio directly outside the back door with a table and parasol, where breakfast can be served when the weather is nice.
The conservatory and breakfast room are on the ground floor on a single level. The floor in the hall is carpeted (to an average depth), and is suitable for wheelchair use. The hall leads directly into the breakfast room, and the conservatory is down a short corridor. The floors in the breakfast room and conservatory are hard wood.
Both the bedrooms are on the upper floor – there are no bedrooms on the ground floor. The upper floor is carpeted and is reached by a staircase with two flights of steps, with a right-angle turn between them. The steps are carpeted.
- First flight – 4 steps with rail on the left-hand side
- Second flight – 9 steps with rail on the right-hand side.
Bedrooms
Rosebud Room – this has an en suite bathroom with a built-in shower cubicle. The shower cubicle doorframe has a small riser at the base.
Rosepetal Room – this has exclusive use of a private bathroom with a bath. The bathroom is directly across the corridor from the bedroom.
Rosepetal Family Suite - this consists of the Rosepetal Room plus an adjacent double room. Both rooms have use of a private bathroom with a bath, situated directly across the corridor from the bedrooms.
Breakfast – this is normally served in the breakfast room, although breakfast can also be served outside on the patio if you prefer. A large print version of the menu is available on request.
The breakfast room has a single table, with good access all around.
The patio has a single large table with a central parasol, again with good access all around the table.
Pets
Although we do not accept guests’ pets, we do of course welcome assistance dogs. It would also help if you could let us know when you book.
Gardens
The lovely gardens at Roseville are accessible from the conservatory. Double doors lead onto the large patio, which is surfaced with wooden decking. The patio has comfy seating with a large umbrella providing shelter.
The patio gives onto a pebbled area which has a slab path connecting the patio with the lawns (this path is probably too narrow for wheelchair users). The lawns are all on one level and are quite flat.
There is plenty of seating around the garden, which is around 30m long and 10m wide. There are some plants in the garden which may cause a reaction to hayfever sufferers, and some which may be toxic if eaten.
