Things To Do - Families & Kids
There are simply loads of things for families to do in and around Chester - here are just a few suggestions:
- Chester Zoo - one of the world's foremost zoos, with the emphasis on conservation and education. But that doesn't mean you don't see the animals! - you can get REALLY close to them. Elephants and monkeys, meercats and rhinos, lions and tigers - there are over 400 different species and over 11,000 animals for you to see! There's so much to see, it's hard to cram it all into one day - and if you stay with us for 3 nights or more you get a 5% discount.
- The Crocky Trail - this is simply unique! Just a couple of miles from Roseville, the Crocky Trail is crazy combination of mazes, swings, bridges and tunnels set in lovely countryside just outside Chester. It's great for kids of all ages - including grown-ups! Expect to get wet and muddy - and enjoy yourself all the more! Plenty of offroad parking, plus food and drink on site. The Crocky Trail makes a great day out whatever the weather!
- Blue Planet Aquarium - an award-winning attraction where you can see all the underwater creatures that you normally only get to see on TV. And if you're brave enough, you can even swim with sharks!
- Dewa Roman Experience - Chester was at one time going to be the centre of the Roman Empire in the north, but the planned invasion of Ireland was overtaken by the barbarians at the gates of Rome. Bad news for the Romans, but it means there's a wealth of history to see in Chester. The Dewa Roman Experience really brings it all to life, with plenty of hands-on exhibits and loads of detail on what it was actually like to live here in those days.
- Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet & Entertainment Centre - if you like shopping, movies and plenty of places to eat and drink, then you'll love Cheshire Oaks! Easy to reach on the A55 just outside Chester.
- 10-pin Bowling - there are tenpin centres at Cheshire Oaks and Greyhound Park on Sealand Road.
